Details of the sensation at Lodz, Poland, in which bandits barricaded themselves in a house and kept the police at bay for two hours, show that the members of the band escaped excepting Banaseak, who barricaded the > garret and kept the troops at bay for forty hours. He lived through machine ' gun fire and the blowing up of the house, and died only after the machine gun had again riddled the building.
