ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
POUND DEAD. By Telegraph—Prefts Association. Gisborne, Tuesday. James Kennedy, aged 32, was found dead in his tent at Rakauroa this morning. A CASE OP SUICIDE. Christchurch, Tuesday. Charles King, a single man, was found dead in his whare in West Oxford this morning with his throat cut. The door was locked and the case was evidently one of suicide. HEART FAILURE. Dunedin, Last Night. Whilo engaged in discharging cargo from the Whakatane this afternoon, John Gesty, a married man, residing in Leith street, was overtaken by heart seizure, and expired before a medical man arrived. i Deceased was recently treated for heart trouble. A BUSH FATALITY. Auckland, Last Night. Con it able Wade, of Kawhia. telegraphed to headquarters this afternoon that a native Tumi Rangi was accidentally killed in the bush to-day at Awaroo.
A MYSTERIOUS DEATH. Gisborne, Last Night. James Kennedy, aged 30 or 32 years, was found dead in his tent at Raukauroa near Gisborne this morning. The information received goes to show that the cause of death is somewhat mysterious. Deceased was a navvy, and. had been working on the railway line for some considerable time. He went to Raukauroa post office last night for his mail, and then appeared to be in his usual good health as. he made no eomplaints of being unwell, and when last seen, about midnight, by some of his camp mates he was all right. Deceased, who was a single man, slept in a tent by himself, where he was found dead at six o'clock this morning. This afternoon the body was said to be turning black.
