A cablegram states that the Bishop of Senior and the Fsle of Man has been transferred to the Bishopric of Ripon. Rev. Father Hills, S.M. of Blenheim, formerly of Leeston, has been appointed Vicar-General in the diocese and rector of St. Mary's parish, Christchurch North. —Press Association. Mr. J. R. Mackay's many friends will bo glad to learn (writes the Stratford Post) that he has safely undergone an operation, and it is hoped he will be well enough to return to Stratford from Auckland in about three weeks' time. The London Gazette of October Cth announced that the King has approved of the retention of the title of "Honorable" by Mr. George Fowlds, who has served for more than three years as a member of the Executive Council of New Zealand. The Stratford Post savs that, Mr. G. A. .Mar-hunt, who was defeated at the recent county elections, having expressed the view that hospital board representatives should also be members of the local bodies, responsible for rnisino the funds, has resigned his seat on. the Hospital Board.
