Mass meetings of railwaymen at various centres considered the commission's report. General opinion at the 1 Birmingham, Bradford and Huddersficld meetings favored a strike for fuller recognition of the unions. The Crewe gathering decided to give the commission's recommendations a trial; The Llanclly: railwaymen announced their decision to strike, but after a stormy meeting postponed their intention.
