MISSIONARY MOVEMENT. I JBy Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. ! The annual meeting of the New Zealand Presbyterian branch of the Laymen's missionary movement was held last night. The annual report stated that I branches were in existence in the presbyteries of Dunedin, Christchurcb, Wel- ■ lington, Clutha, Wanganui and Taranaki. , In the presbyteries of Hawke's Bay, GisI borne, Palnierston North and Oamaru congregation branches have been formed [and the movement has been very active in Christchurch. On the motion of Mr. |J. Mitchell (Christchurch), seconded by Mr. J. Craig (Napier), the report was unanimously adopted. I Mr. W. M. Hannay (Wellington) was elected president for the ensuing year, and Mr. L. L. Paul (Wellington) secretary. | It was decided to recommend the council to consider the difficulties of the branches under no Presbyterian association, and make provision for their representation on the council. An address on "The duty of laymen to the church" was delivered by Mr. Goss (Christchurch), and Mr. P. Mill, who has just been accepted by the Presbyterian Church for mission work, spake on the student volunteer movement and its appeals to the Christian church.
