THE AGRICULTURAL HALL

SOCIAL AT EG MOST ROAD. ; A most successful social and dance in aid of the Xew Plymouth Agricultural ; Hall was held in the Egmont Road Hall lon Thursday evening. .Mr. TV. Ambury, 1 1 president of the Society, attended, and ■ with him a good contingent from Xew Plymouth. .Mr. J. R. Hill presided over the gathering, and an excellent programme was submitted to a very appreciative audience. The following performers from Xew Plymouth took part: Misses Buekman (3), who were twice recalled, Messrs. \Y. Ambury, Guv. A. Yeale, H. Joll, M. Scott, Ok'ey, Howell, Cole, bovell, Bullot and Hooker, whilst ',the local talent that participated were j Mrs. Scott, Miss Ida Hill, and Mr. Burrows. At the conclusion a splendid reIpust provided by the ladies of the disI trict was partaken of, and the hall was (cleared for dancing, which was kept up vigorously till the wee sma' hoors. Excellent music was provided by Miss I Bishop (piano) and 'Master Bishop (violin). A/r. W. Stanley, Jr., made an effi- , cient M.C. Mr. J. R. Joll returned thanks to the performers for their :■ valuable assistance, and Mr. W. Ambury > thanked the people of the district for | their liberal support.
