N.Z. RUGBY UXIOX. MAXAGEMEXT COMMITTEE MEET

By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Xight. A meeting of the management committee of the X T ew Zealand Rugby Union was held this evening. Consideration of the application of the Otago Union for the renewal for two years of their loan of £SOO was deferred pending receipt of information regarding the date of the proposed renewal. The Otago Union wrote appealing against the decision of the >*ew Zealand Unioa ; upholding the" appeal of A: McDonald against "his disqualification by "the Otago Union, for using oll'ensive language to the referee. It was resolved that a sub-committee, j consisting of the chairman, Messrs. Isaacs and Crombic, draw up the union's I case for submission to the Appeal Council.

The Buller Union appealed to the committee to settle the deadlock which had arisen with the Marlborough Union regnrding the competition for the Seddon Shield.—The committee decided that it had no jurisdiction in the case, but would aot a) 9 arbitrator, provided all the j unions concerned were agreed. A 'letter was received from Maurice P. Epstein. Kimberley, Griqualand West, | proposing tQ 'bring over a South African (colored rugby team. The letter stated: "This South African colored team would i be composed of purely colored colonials and all trained athletes, well up in the game, and the majority of them will be what we call here "internationals," as having played in representative, matches,| in tournaments against the Transvaal. Orange River Colony and Cape Colony. | They would 'he prepared to play as many j matches as could be arranged, three per | Week if necessary, and would accept any reasonable guarantee per maiteh. They would pay all their own expenses, and would bring twenty-seven players, more to follow if necessary. The team was purely independent."—After a little discussion, it was resolved, on the motion e>f Mr. Crombic, that the letter be replied to to the effect that all comJ munieations must be made through the I South African Board, and further that j the X./C. Union cannot see; their way 1 to receive any team not representing tile South African Board. On the motion of the chairman, it was, then further rej solved that the committee write to the ' South African Rugby Board enclosing a copy of this correspondence aud reverting to the previous communications, stating that the Xew Zealand Rugby I Union will be pleased to receive a South African rep. team to tour the Dominion in 1012.
