A DERELICT VESSEL. I By Cable—Press Association —Copyright Adelaide, November fl. The steamer India reported striking a floating object in the dark in the vicinity of Recherche Island, receiving a severe shock. Subsequently the steamer Monarch reported sighting the hull of a water-logged vessel in the direct line of shipping between West and South Australia. The identity of the derelict has not been ascertained. LOSS OF THE MACLEAY. Sydney, November 9. An inquiry has been opened into the wreck of the steamer Macleay. Evidence showed that she was well found and her compass adjusted shortly before the last voyage. The night was black and dark. A WOOL-SHED BURNED. v Melbourne, November 9. Langikalkal woolshed was ■ destroyed by fire and a hundred sheep and twentyfive bales of wool burned. ! A BARQUE LOST. Melbourne, November 9. ' Advices received from London state I that the barque Svolder Sundsvaal, bound ifor Melbourne timber-laden, has been I wrecked. No details are given. j SALE OF AUSTRALIAN GOODS. J Melbourne.
