This s ] loll ld pro»j' of special interest to Taranaki iarinVrs. as it gives Mr. Hall's reasonfor dairying solely with Jerseys. .\t one time he worked with Ayrshircs and llolsleins, but, ultimately, after taking all the circumstances into careful consideration, he determined to pin his future to tins Jersey. With some good slock al ready in hand. Mr. Hall scoured the most prominent dairying district- of the Eastern States „f Aii-.tralia. and succeeded in pinvlia-in".' a siring which lias simo done hi- judgment every ci'idit in our show rings, and he ha- now a herd second to none in the Dominion. It is not only in the show ring that his herd excclls. but also in the dairy. The sue-ee-s which has attended the owner of "The Cha-e" i- shown by the fact that' during the past eight years he has won over SO prizes all over the Dominion, of which 32 tirsts. 13 seconds, champion ' ships, specials, and other awards were secured la-t year. While, as dairy cattle. the value of the herd can he guaged from the fact that when milking 25 cows and 15 heifers the li-t was never below -l.lt, and last year the average test was 5.3.
