DROUGHT IN QUEENSLAND. Brisbane, November 4. There is a severe drought in Western Queensland, and horses and cattle are dying. FIRE AT TOWNSVILLE. Brisbane, November 4. A fire at Smellie and Oo.'s premises at Townsville completely destroyed them. The damage is estimated at £IS,OOO. The insurances amount to £10.400. THE FREMANTLE STRIKE. Fremantle, November 4. The tramway strikers returned to work temporarily when they were promised an inquiry.
