IRISH HOME RULE.
ADDRESS BY MR. REDMOXD. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright London, November 3. Air. Redmond addressed « crowded meeting at the City Liberal Club on the economic and financial aspect of Home Rule. He declared that it had been England's deliberate policy for two centuries to destroy Irish industries; hence its commercial and industrial history was one of continual stagnation. It was hopeless to expect Ireland to rouse herself until she obtained ft native Coveniment. During the greater part of a century she had been paying £2,2'>0.000 above her fair proportion of taxation. During a century she had contributed £32!),000.000 for the army, navy and general purposes of theEmpire. The Irish (lovcrnment was the most costly in the world, because it was not a willing partner with one of the richest countries. Every luxury given to England was extended to Ireland and ! charged to Trish revenue. There was no incentive to economy. Let Britain make a bargain with Ireland in a generous final settlement. Parliamentary business was so congested that TTome Rule was equally required in England. Scotland and Wales. A remarkable feature of the meeting was that Lord Reauehamp presided, and Lord Elibank moved a vote of thanks to Air. Redmond.
