METALLURGIST MURDERED.
A GHASTLY CRIME. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 5, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, November 5. A mysterious murder has occurred at Glebe. The body of Henry Trevascus, a metallurgist, has been found in his room at a lodginghouse with his head battered by a heavy implement. The face, head and throat were slashed with a razor. It is believed he has. been dead since Tuesday or Wednesday. Nobody entered the room, which was locked, untiil his daughter called on Saturday night, when the door was forced open and the body discovered. The police are without a clue as to the assailant, but it is suspected robbery was the motive.
"GONE TO GOULBOURN." Received fi, 1.4 a.m. Sydney, November 5. , Pinned to Trevascus' door was a memorandum stating that he had gone to Coulburn, and would return on Friday. This accounts for the late discovery of the crime.
