The Anglo-German Friendship Society, at a meeting at the Mansion House at which the Lord Mayor presided, passed a resolution in favor of a rapprochement with Germany, and an Anglo-German exhibition in London in 11113. A special committee to promote the scheme was formed. Lord Weardale, Sir F. Lascelles, late Ambassador to Germany, Mr. Noel Buxton, M.P., and Lord Courtney were the speakers. , Berlin, November 3. Herr Lindequist has resigned the Colonial Secretaryship, as he disapproves of the agreement. SIR GEORGE APPROVES. Received 5, 5.5 p.m. London, November 4. Sir Geo. Reid approves the Anglo-Ger-man exhibition as a practical means of '•'talking peace." GERMAN NEWSPAPERS AVERSE. Received 5, 5.5 p.m. Berlin, November 4. The Tageblatt states that the proposal .is ill-timed, and is doubtful whether the unofficial press regards Mr. Lloyd-George's bellicose speech at a critical juncture as a warning to Germany. Other newspapers are equally averse to the proposition.
