CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER
THE WELLINGTON AFFAIR. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. An inquest was held to-day by Dr. A. McArthur, District Coroner, touching the death of Ccorgo Ounther. who died from injuries alleged to have been caused bv a blow delivered bv Edward Francis ".MolTitt. Chief-Detective llroberg watched the case on behalf of the police, and Mr. A. L. Herdnun appeared for MolTitt. After hearing evidence of medical and other witnesses, the coroner returned » verdict that death was caused by fracture of the skull on the left side, and rupture of the middle meningeal artery on the right side, causing hemorrhage, with sub-cqiient compression of the brain.. As far as MolTitt was concerned it was a case of pure misadventure. Mollitt, appeared at the Magistrate's Court this morning, charged with manslaughter, and was remanded, bail being allowed in a sum of Cl5O.
