A 'Fremantle message reports that General Sir S. Donvard is a passenger by the Orvieto and is proceeding to New Zealand.
The estate of Mr. F. Lasseter, late head of the firm of the Lasseter Company, is valued for probate at £231,000. —Sydney wire.
At a well-attended meeting nt supporters of Mr. John Graham, M.P., of Nelson, who is retiring from politics, it was decided to present him with a piece, of plate at a public function in recognition of his eighteen years' Parliamentary service.—Press wire.
Mr. J, Morton, who has been connected with the local telegraph office for a number of years, lias been promoted to officer in charge of the Napier telephone exchange. Mr. Clinch, of Palmerston North, will replace Mr. Morton at the local office.
The funeral' of the late Sergeant Moyle yesterday afternoon was headed by members 'of the.Salvation Armv, wh# marched with flag unfurled to the graveside. The hearse was fallowed by ft number of His Majesty' Veterans, comrades of the lilte Sergeant Moyle, and a number of relatives and friends.
