GREATER NEW PLYMOUTH.
MEETING AT WESTOWN. * - The scheme for the formation of a Greater New Plymouth advanced another stage last evening, when a meeting of ratepayers at Westown was held in the Westown Hall to consider the question. About twenty ratepayers. were present, and at the conclusion nearly all signed the petition in favor of merging. Mr. G. W. Browne (Mayor) and Mr. F. T Bellringer (town clerk) were present. Mr. J. D. Sole presided, and at his instance the Mayor addressed the meeting on the advantages of the proposal. Subsequently a committee was set up. Our report of the proceedings crowded out of this issue.
