ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
GOVERNMENT SURVEYOR'S GRAVE INJURY. By Telegraph-r-Press Association. Nelson, Last Night. Mr. D'Arcy Irvine, Government staff surveyor, met with a serious accident at tlie French Pass on Thursday, sustaining a fracture of the skull through being struck hy a failing tree. He wa* brought by launch to Nelson and now lies in a grave condition in the hospital.
PARMER DROWNiED. Morton, Last Night. F. Schwass, a farmer, residing in the Turakina Valley, was drowned in the Turakina river on Saturday while driving across in a 'dray, which capsized. His companion drifted to the overhanging willows and was rescued. The horse was drowned. So far Schwass' body has not been recovered.
