THE LITHGOW STRIKERS.

A CONVICTION QUASHED. By Gable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, October 25. The Banco Court on appeal quashed the conviction of one of the Lithgow strikers, who was fined for absenting himself from work without reasonable cause. Mr. Justice Pring, in delivering judgment, said that the men absenting themselves honestly believed that the contract between themselves and the employers was broken, and therefore were justified in staying away from work. The decision may affect other cases.
