The Tasmanian mail brought tei thousand letters returned from the Commercial Bank of Tasmania as the result of a promise made by the Rank to return letters connected with Tattcrsall's sweeps. The promise was made in order to have the postal prohibition removed. Many more letters are expected to follow, owing to the large business through the approach of the Melbourne Cup. Tlv Xew South Wales Postal authorities are readdressing the letters to senders and delivering them without charging postage or registration. The lattei i-. effected on letters containing more than five shillings.
