THE INSURANCE BILL. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, October 17. Mr. Snewdon, M.P. (Labor), speaking at Hartlepool, regretted Mr. LloydGeorge's unstatcsmanlike way of dealing with criticisms of the Insurance Bill. His clitics were not hostile, but were quite as anxious to ameliorate the sufferings of the working classes as the Chancellor of the Exchequer. If the Bill was as Mr. Lloyd-George described it even the extremist .Socialists would be enthusiastic about it. Mrs. I'ember Reeve*, at I lie Woman's Institute, declared that married women would have to economise in their families' food to enable their husbands to pay insurance under the Insurance Bill.

Lord ITalsbury, in ii letter to the Times, declares that the Ttalsburv Club is not actuated by any disloyalty to the leader of the party. Its members desire to co-operate with all Unionists in fighting for the Unionist cause to the utmost of their power.
