It is semi-offieially announced that the Powers have ceased their efforts at mediation, as Italy is determined on the annexation of Tripoli. RESISTING ENROLMENT. Received 18. 0.35 p.m. Cettinje. November IS. The Albanians and Servians at Ipek, Borsne and Ajakova are resisting enrolment. Some disturbances have occurred, and the Turkish authorities have invoked military assistance. TURKISH FLEET MOVES AT LAST. ITALY FORCING THE PACE. TO BRING ABOUT PEACE. Received 18, 11 p.m. Constantinople, October 18. The Turkish fleet has sailed to protect the harbors of Epirus. in the Balkan Peninsula. Paris, October 18. The cruiser Leon Gambetta has sailed for the Turkish-Tripolitan coasts to protect French interests.
Vienna, October 18. It is stated that Italy has informed the Powers that she is about to occupy Mytilene and two other islands in the Agean Sea with a view to exercising pressure on the Porte and hastening the acceptance of peace conditions. Fears are expressed in Vienna that excitement in Turkey and the Balkans will thereby be increased. Sofia, October 18. The Porte has promised Bulgaria the withdrawal of her troops from the Turkish frontiers. TURKISH SOLDIERS DEPOSE THEIR LEADER. Received 18, 11 p.m. Tripoli, October 18. The Turkish soldiers deposed Munir Pasha, and elected Colonel Niscia as his successor.
