RAINS AND SQUALLS. Paimerston N., Last Niglit. There have been heavy rains and squalls throughout this district to-day, and the pastures are getting a needed soaking. A MYSTERY SOLVED. Dunedin, Last Night. The newly-bofn infant which was found at Balclutha on Friday morning is progressing favorably under careful treatment. The mystery regarding its parentage has been solved, the mother, a young unmarried woman, having confessed to the police. Ait first she denied all knowledge of the matter. ENDOW IXC! A HOSPITAL BED. Wellington, Last Night. Mr. Leo. W. Buller and his sister have offered £.>oo to endow a bed in the Wellington hospital in memory of their late brother. Mr. l'crcy Buller.
