A deputation of boilermakers and shipbuilders, accompanied by eighty unemployed. protested against tie labor shortage report. The Premier promised to consult the union secretaries before acting. IMPLEMENT MAKERS' PROTEST. Melbourne, October 17. During the week five hundred implement makers have bten discharged owing to lack of work. The union is urging this as a reason against the importation of skilled workers.
