PREFERENCE -TO UNIONISTS. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Sydoney, October 17. Messrs. Carr anil Hollis, Federal and State Labor members at Bathurst, have practically declared against preference to unionists. Mr. Carr said thai the Government could not compel it even by Act of Parliament. Mr. Hollis said no union had the right to seek preference unless the members constituted a majority of those employed. IX THE BEAR GARDEN. ANOTHER SUSPENSION. Received IS. 1 a.m. Sydney. October 17. "In the Assembly Mr. Moxham got at -cross purposes with the Speaker, who ordered his removal. Mr. Moxham, on leaving the Honse, voluntarily interjected that the Spefiker was "blacker than he looked," and was ordered to be brought back. He eventually apologised. Mr. Levien moved the second reading of the Totalisator Bill.
