THE GAME IN NEW PLYMOUTH. A meeting of members of the various New Plymouth ericket clubs was held at Messrs Webster and McKellar's offices last night to further consider final arrangements for the upkeep of the playing area at the Recreation Grounds. Mr. E. Whittle presided. A commitce consisting of Messrs. Avery, G-willim, Lash, Napier, and E. Whittle ■\Vfis appointed to carry nut the necessary details. It was resolved that each of the town clubs be responsible for a fee of 10s senior and 2s fid junior players as classified under the Taranaki Cricket Association, with a minimum guarantee from the various clubs as follows:—New Plymouth £lO, Law £5, United Service £O, and Carrington Road £5. Half this amount will be payable on November 1, and the balance on December 1. It was also decided that a charge of lis be made for all other matches outside of cup fixtures. It was resolved that application be made to the North Taranaki Cricket Association for financial support in view of the representative matches which will be played on the ground. At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee met, when Mr. E. Whittle was appointed chairman and secretary, and Mr. E. Avery treasurer. Mr. Gwillim was appointed to take charge of the ground and supervise all necessary work.
