THE TAVIUNI COLLISION.

MASTER'S CERTIFICATE SUSPENDED. By Giblc—Press Association—Copyright. Received 10, 8.55 p.m. Sydney, October 16. The Nautical Court found that the Xera-Taviuni collision was caused by Captain Brighton, master of tlie Taviuni, failing to keep the steamer on her proper course. Captain Beighton's record showed that during the eighteen years he had been at sea he had never previously had an accident. Judge Murray, in suspending Captain Beighton's certificate for six months from the date of the collision, said the Court was sorry to have to deal with the certificate of a master who had hitherto managed his ship without accident.
