RAILWAYMEN'S GRIEVANCES
TO BE HEARD BY THE GOVERNMENT. By Telegrap'i—Press Association. Ohristchurch, Saturday Night. 'A member of the A.S.R.S. informed a reporter this afternoon thait a telegram had been received' from Messrs. Davey, Witty and Isitt, M.'sP., that the Government had changed its mind regarding thfe hearing of the petition of the second division of .the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants. The telegram stated that the petition would be heard some time next week. The news was received with general satisfaction by the men, whose meeting of protest to-morrow promised to 'be of a sensational character. No further action will now be taken until the result of the hearing of the petition is made known.
