THE WANGANUI SEAT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. Mr. C. E. MacKay, Mayor of Wanganui, who is contesting the Wanganui seat as an Independent Liberal, opened his campaign this evening. THE TEMUKA SEAT. Temoika; Last Night. Mr. W. Jeffries, who headed the poll at the first ballot last election, opened the campaign for the Teimika seat as an Oppositionist at Temuka to-night. He spoke in favor of the freehold, an elective Council, Public Service Board, and would give a trial to the Vaile railway system. THE MANAWATU SEAT. Palmerston North, Last Night. Mr. Wm. Thomson, farmer, of Linton, announces that he intends to contest the Palmerston seat, at the general election as ait Independent.
