A FATAL MISTAKE.
CARBOLIC ACID FOR WINE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright London, October 12. The' captain of the steamer Bougainyille, lying in the Thames, gave some visitors carbolic acid in mistake for wine. Mr. Hubert Burrough, a member of the Stock Exchange, is dead, and three others are in a critical condition. Received 13, 1.35 a.m. London, October 12. The party gathered to drink success to the vessel's voyage to Australia. The captain and three others who were poisoned are progressing favorably. One case is critical.
