Mr, Watson, a member of the Tasmanian Assembly, is visiting Newcastle on behalf of the Mt .Lyell miners. It is understood that the miners' delegate board has promised support. THREATS TO FLOOD MTXE. Received 13, 1.20 a.m. Melbourne, October 12. The conference of Mt. Lyell directors and officers of the union was abortive, and lasted only an hour. The reinstatement of White is still the stumbling block. The union threaten to call out the engine-drivers and to allow water to flood the mine. The manager says this cannot seriously injure the mine. Mr, Hobart stated that the union docs not intend to issue further provision coupons, and there is a great exodus of miners from the district. Homos sold for next to nothing.
