The. passengers mid crew numbering 3.V>. were quarantined, owing to a case of smallpox on board. Received 12, 1 a.m. Sydney. October 11. Mr. Tudor states that he will favorably entertain the proposal to compensate passengers suffering monetary loss through being overearried on the Eastern. THE MAWSON EXPEDITION. Received 12, 1 a.m. Brisbane, October 11. The Government expressed its intention of standing in with the other States in the expenses of the Mawson expedition.
