A CANADIAN" STRIKE. by Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Ottawa, October 10. Winnipeg boilermakers and machinists of th-e Grand Trunk Pacific Railway struck to-day. Three hundred and fifty men are affected. Negotiations for a settlement have been pending, but have not matured. The men seek a ninehour day at 45y 2 cents per hour. A LOCK-OUT AVERTED. London, October 10. A lock-out in Lancashire lias been avoided, the non-unionists agreeing to join the unions. A TRAWLERS' STRIKE.
The Hague, October 10. The engineers on forty trawlers have struck for increased wages. MT. LYELL STRIKE. Received' 12, 1 a.m. Sydney, October 11. The Lvell Company has intimated it will meet the delegates of the Employees' Association in conference in connection with the strike.
