CORRESPONDENCE.
UNSTAMPED RECEIFPS. T» the Editor. Sir, —In reading your report of the Magistrate's Court in the above eases 1 was much surprised to see that the whole trouble was put down by Mr. Hutchen to the ignorance of the clerk who didn't happen to be there to speak for himself. For Mr. Hutchen's information or anyone else whom it may concern, I wish to state that I complained to the audit inspector that the defendant seldom if ever stamped his receipts, even when requested to do so, little thinking that he would have to answer the charges in court. This, no doubt, influenced the auditor in recommending the police to take action. Mr. Hutchen must have been either misinformed oi drawn on a fertile imagination to make a .good ease for his client at the expense of TOE "IGNORANT" CLERK.
