ENTERTAINMENTS
PIRATES OF PEXZAXCE. Tlie famous Jemolan Cares have often been eulogised through the press in all parts of the world for their wonderful beauty, but we can assure the public of New Plymouth that the cave at the; Theatre Royal now occupied by the famous "Pirates of Penzance" far excels in scenic beauty anything previously discovered. Arrangements for viewing same can be made for a small sum with Mr. Collier at his piano rooms in this town. Im addition to the natural beauty of t'he surrounding scenery patrons will be charmed with a rendering in song and story of an incident in the lives of this, piratical crew, who are not really as bad as they are painted. On the authority of our fellow townsman, Mr. R. Renand, who has spent considerable time with the band, we are promised, a musical entertainment which will eclipse anything previously performed in this town. Seats to view are limited, so intending patrons are reminded to book at once.
SAUNDERS' BIOGRAPH PICTURES.
The popularity of Saunders' Pictures was again demonstrated on Saturday night, when St. John's Hall. Waitavn, was packed- to view "The Crusaders," « and Whiteley Hall crowded with an enthusiastic audience attracted by the changes of films. The new programme contains several fine scenic pictures,. views being shown of Gibraltar (England's £50,000,00 fortress), "Winter Traffic, Stockholm," "A Holiday in the Highlands-." and a most interesting educational Mm. entitled "Scientific Bee Fa riming." The dramatic section con-' sists of good, clean, interesting pictures. Particularly line is a quaint drama by the Eclair Studio, "A Letter to Father Christmas." The other dramatic films are, "The Duke of Aries" and "Virginia" (another Cine Roma star). "The Cowboy's Chivalry" is a Lubin Western romance, an exceptionally thrilling ami vivid story of cowboy* life, out back. The comics are all .highly amusing, the best being an A.B. comedy, "Jones at a Ball," in trousers too tight. The Biograph Orchestra added an appropriate musical setting to the varied items. The full programme will be repeated to-night and .to-morrow night.
