HAWKE'S HAY SEAT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Hastings, Wednesday. Mr. H. M. Campbell, Reform Party's candidate, addressed a large meeting of electors at Hastings. Being a big land owner his views on the land question'' are interesting. He is a staunch believer in the freehold, and where a man is unable to pay cash he should foe given land on easy deferred payments. He believes in a graduated tax for revenue purposes, but not for confiscation. He would vote for Mr. Massey or anyont else oil a no confidence motion. THE WAKATIPU SEAT. Gore, Wednesday. Mr. Joseph Stevens, of Riversdale, will contest Wakatipu as a supporter of the present Government. HURUNUI SEAT. Christchurch, Last Night. Mr. D. D. Macfarlanc, Opposition candidate for Hurunni, opened his campaign at Waiau on Monday night. He addressed a largely attended meeting of electors in the local hall, and was accorded a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence. He detailed at length the Opposition platform, speaking strongly in favor of a vigorous land settlement policy. THE EtiMONT SEAT. The Hon. T. Mackenzie attended meetings of his supporters at Opunako, Rahotu and Kaponga on Tuesday. At each place he was enthusiastically received, and strong committees were set up with a view to forwarding his candidature. THE GLUTHA SEAT. Naseby, Last Night. Mr. W. D. Mason addressed a fairly large audience in the Town Hall at Naseby. He announced himself as a candidate in the Ministerial and Liberal interest. A vote of thanks was passed.
