In tin- Waiwakailio and Stony rivers the rainbow trout are doing well, and in the latter several verv large lisll have been seen. Messrs Hon. I'avlv and t'. INT. Hill Inid splendid sport in tin' Warca district and secured twelve even fish of 21b to 31b . Other anglers in the district secured fair ditches. Messrs. F. Whittle and W. liirch look nine fish from tlie Waiwakaiho, averaging about ;>1 bs. Eight of these were rainbow. On the same river Mr. Frewin landed three nice tisli. Several other local anglers had excellent sport, in the Opnnake district.
