TRAGEDY IN N.S.W.
MAN SHOOTS SWEETHEART AND SUICIDES. By Cable—'Press Association—Copyright Received 28, 9.35 p.m. Sydney, September 28. John Roac'he attempted to murder his sweetheart, Gladys McKenna, and afterwards suicided in a paddock near Orange. The girl was shot in the forehead by Roachc, there being two bullet wounds. The revolver contained only one discharged cartridge, and it is supposed that Roache shot Miss McKenna, inflicted a slight wound to himself, went home, reloaded the revolver, returned to the girl, and afterwards fatally shot himself. Miss McKenna may recover.
