He adds that he would welcome a strike, as it would allow of an overhaul of the machinery. The biggest contractor in Melbourne has agreed to the laborers' demands for ten shillings a day. BUILDERS' STRIKE ENDED. Received 23, 1 a.m. Melbourne, September 22. The builders and laborers' strike lias ended. While not recognising l.js, the minimum claimed, the masters are paying the rate pending the Wages Board's decision.
