d'ATE OV TWO MEN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Westport, Last Xight. . A search for tins bodies of Timothy Corby,■ contractor, ami Thos. Low, employee, who were killed by a hk*t on the railway construction works in the Bullet- Gorge about midday to-day, failed to bring any other trace than mere fragments on the rocks and trees on the river bank.

One eye-witness stated he saw a coated body, believed to he Corby, lly through the air and descend into the river. Nothing was, seen of the other at the time the. accident occurred. The men were engaged in connecting up a slow to a rapid fuse. Apparently the gelignite in one of the holes went off, some 30 tons of stone being dislodged. Mr. Corby was one of the best known men in the. district, being a member of the lliiller County Council for four years, and for some time its. chairman, a member of the We»t]»rt Harbor Board and liuller Hospital Board, and of various other public bodies. With Mr. Foster he hud only recently accepted a contract on the harbor works at Motuekn for a sum totalling close on £20,000. He leave* a widow and six of a family!
