COPING WITH EMERGENCIES
CREATm OF SPECIAL CONSTABLES. HOME OFFICE'S PLAN. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 21, 12.50 a.m. London, September 20. The Home Office has elaborated a scheme for registering special constables for emergency duties, enabling police reservists to join the colors in war time, and giving confidence to the public in regard to protecting the life and property of the people without military aid. Strikers will be eligible for enrolment, as they are concerned in suppressing hooliganism, which is discrediting to their cause.
The pesion clauses in relation to the regular police apply to special constables killed or injured. They will also receive payment for their services.
