TIMARU HKIII SCHOOL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Tiniaru, List Night. The High School Hoard to-day resolved to cull tender* for the erection of a new hoys' high school, the rooms to include laboratories for agricultural works. A MEMORIAL WINDOW. Timaru, Last Night. Yesterday Bishop Julius dedicated a beautiful window at the east end of St. Mary's Church in memoriam of tilt thirty-five years' faithful service of Archdeacon Harper and the esteem of his parishioners. WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD. Wanganui, Last Night.
At a meeting of the Wnngamii Education Board to-night, some interesting figures, culled from departmental statistics regarding the Wanganui district, were given by the chairman (Mr. Pirani). Last year £3738 was collected in donations, subscriptions and interest on bequests. No other district could compare with this, Auckland being the nearest with £3OOO less, while Wanganui subscribed nearly half the amounts collected in New Zealand in fees from technical and district high schools, viz., £1853. Auckland was again next with £IOOB. Competitive designs for a new infants' school were received from Feilding, Palmerston, Wellington, Christchurch, and from local men. The design of Mr. T. H. Battle, a local architect, was accepted. The new school is to cost £3OOO. The Board is also calling for applications ifor the principal of the new technical college at a salary of £450.
