TRAM FATALITY

ONE KILLED, TWO INJURED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. An accident occurred this evening on the Mount Eden tramline, resulting in a passenger named William Williamson being killed instantly and several others receiving more or less severe injuries. Two outward bound cars were concerned. The first, running down-hill, passed a lorry, which pulled off the track to let it go by. The driver of the lorry, not noticing the second car behind, pulled back on to the tram track, and the tram struck the vehicle in the rear, smashing the front of the car and disabling the air brake system, with the result that the car ran away and crashed into the car in front. ' Williamson, who was on the rear platform, was crushed to death. James Sed<lon and Miss Clark were rather seriously injured.,
