THE DEADLY PEA-RIFLE. Tfy Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, Yesterday. The deadly pea-rifle was in evidenoa again yesterday. A young fellow name* Hubert White, aged 17, was admitted to the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound in the chest. It seems that when out shooting at Aramoho yesterday he put the pea-rifle on the ground with the muzzle pointing towards his chest, when, by some unexpluinable means, the gun went off. The wound is in a serious position, but there is no great danger at present; though the bullet has not yet'been extracted. THROWN FROM A TRAP. a. x, • ' . Levin ' *Mt#siy. At the inquest on Sarah syleg tf verdict of accidental death was returned. She had been in a precarious state of health for some time past, and the shock of being thrown from the trap caused! death. The motor-car mentioned in connection with the case was proved to have been drjven slowly when passing the trap. The horse became frightened, and the driver pulled it almost at right angles across the road," which action precipitated both occupants from the vehicle.
