Hearne 52, Warner (not out) 220, It is rumored that Hearne is likely to accompany the M.C'.C. team to Australia; THE TRIANGULAR CONTEST. London. September 12. The Imperial Cricket Conference approved of the Board of Control's arrangements with regard to triangular and county matches with the colonials. It was decided that it was inexpedient to grant Warwilcshire's claims to a test match at Birmingham. The conference changed the date of the Anglo-Austra-lian test match at the Oval from August 21 to August 1!) to allow it to be played to a iinsh.
PROPOSED TASMANIAN VISIT. By Telegraph —Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Tlie animal meeting of the Canterbury Cricket Association decided to recommend the New Zealand Cricket Council to defer negotiations with the Tasmanian cricket authorities for a visit from the Tasmanian team until it was ascertained whether Queensland intends sending a team this season. Several speakers expressed the opinion tha.t New Zealand cricket would not "benefit 'by an interchange of visits with Tasmania, as New Zealand cricket had 'progressed, and was now better than Tasmaniaii cricket.
