The report of the Victoria Amateur Turf Club shows that the stakes in the past season were £34,375 and the profits £10,148. LADY MEDALLIST. Sydney, September 13. Amongst a number of fast gallops at I "Randwick Lady Medallist negotiated the Epsom distance in linin 42y 2 sec in great style. DAN T NEYIRKE STEEPLECHASE MEETING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Danevirke, Last Night. The steeplechase meeting of the Dannevirke Racing Club was a decided success. At the outset the weather was beautifully fine, but towards the conclusion heavy rain intervened, making the enclosure and course greasy. The attendance was fair and the racing in-, teres ting. Several spills occurred In the steeplechase events, but riders and 1 horses escaped injury. The sum of £5833 passed through the total isator, as compared with £4554 for the first day of last spring meeting. Results:— Hunters' Hurdles—Nescot 1, .Tackman 2. Sylvia Maid 3. Won by a nose. Time. •2min 54sec.
llaideu Steeplechase—Wirihana 1. The I Plough -2. Onlv the placed horses finished. Won by a furlong. Time,, iimin 17 see. Ruamati Welter—Ariom 1. Epsom Lass 2. Gold Circle 3. The winner led throughout and won by half a length. Time, 2min 14«ec. Dauncvirke Steeplechase—Pleiades 1. Sir Lethe 2. Connecticut 3. Wirrall and Sir Lethe made the running. Approaching the bend the last time round the former fell, interfering with Sir Lethe, who almost fell. Maidi was badly left and was never prominent. Pleiades won bv three lengths. Time, Gmin ">Bscc. 'Handicap Hurdles—Te Whetu 1, Merry Lawn -i, Tionzel 3. Windage was the only other starter und was left at the post and took no part in the race. The winner held command throughout and won by three lengths. Time, 3min Msec. Hunters' Steeplechase —Reckless 1, Commodore 2, Elwcll 3. There were many falls, but were without serious consequence. Won easily. Time, 4min 15sec.
Unintaoroa Hack Welter—Fleet Week 1, Ran Pluie 2, Florence Nightingale 3. San Plnie led to within a few chains of the winning post, when Fleet Week put in a claim and won by a length. Time. KJmin 2sec.
A Sydney cable states that Muziano has been scratched for the Derby.
