SAUXDF/RS' PICTURES. Whiteley Hall was crowded on Saturday night, when a complete new programme was presented. By special arrangement, Selig's masterpiece, "Back to the Primitive," wais again shown for the last time. This remarkable picture was aigain well received. The new list includes another Selig star, ''The Way of the Transgressor." The story is: Bill Bronson marries a Western girl, and takes her to nn Eastern city, where they make their home. lie tire's of matrimony, and begin® to neglect the little woman who has given up all for him. A child is' born to them, but it seems onlv to irritate Bill, and he takes up with evil associates. Dissipation soon loses Mm his position, and he sinks lower and lower, until he is persuaded to become a, thief. His death is reported whilst trying to escape from the police after a daring .burglary. The wife returns West to her brother, where she meets one of his friends, who promptly falls in love with the ' sweet young widow. Bill, however, has survived the bullets of the police, and becomes a ''hobo" tourist. He finally reaches the town where bis wife and her brother live, nit the day of her marriage to the Western friend. During the night Bill attempts to rob the house, but is surprised by the husband and In-other. n,„i during an exchange of shots Bill is removed for ever from the pith of tlio'-e whose happiness he would blight. , Two star picture- by the popular American Biograph Company proved to be powerful stories, magnificently photographed and superbly mounted. The educational port'on wis cvceptionaMy strolls, showing "Views of Moscow (scenic). "From Rastia to Corte" (travel), and "The Cattle Show at Buenos Ayres." The comics proved a quartrtto of screaming absurdities, and are ea.siily as funny : i. selection as we have ever seen. To-night "Back to the Primitive" will be replaced by a powerful drama, "Cuilia f'alonna." '
