BOROUGH COUNCIL. (From Our Own Correspondent). The following additional business was done -at the Borough Council meeting: Tenders for the supply of metal on Moua-tt, street- were received from J. Coleman and Tate and 1 Paul, the former being accepted. It was resolved to obtain a hose for street sprinkling purposes. A new drainage area is to be defined and the engineer asked to submit an estimate of the cost at next meeting. The engineer's report on the Engineer-in-Chief's letter relative to the bridge was adopted, and it was resolved that a deputation, consisting of his Worship the Mayor, Crs. Brabant and Rattenbury, the engineer and town clerk should wait on the Minister and Enginoer-in-Oliief at Wellington. The Council decided to support the proposal of the Harbor Board re elective members.. The recommendations of the Health Department are to be sent to the owner of the property affected. with a request that they be carried out. A committee, consisting of the Mayor, Crs. Klenncr, Rattenbury, Langman and Black, was set up to draw provisional plans of the proposed new Town Hall. It was resolved to call separate tenders for metalling High and Raleigh streets.
