NEW PLYMOUTH WOOL. HIDE, SHEEPSKIN AND TALLOW SALES. L. A. NOLAN AND l'o.\S REPORT. On the 2'Jth inst we held our usual four-weekly sale of above. We submitted a good catalogue to splendid competition. Every lot was disposed at satisfactory prices. Hides sold at about last month's rates, with a hardening.tendency towards the end of sale. Calfskins showed a sharp advance. Sheepskins realised splendid prices, showing quite y 4 d advance in dry and from 3d to (id advance for salted. Tallow advanced sharply. Dalgety and -Co., Ltd., report having held their weeklv sale at the .Solway (Mastcrton) yards nn Wednesday. when they offered a small yarding of both cattle and >heep, which met a good sale, and the whole entrv was sold at rates above that of former sales. Store cattle: There was a little improvement in the demand, yearlings making 33s to 355; 15 to 1.8-months sorts, 55s to 01s; two-vear steers, £4; two-year heifers, £3 18s Od; three-year heifers, £4 ss; dry cows, 25s to £4 ss; dairy cows, £3 Ms and £9 2s Od. Pigs: Choppers sold at 45s to £4 ss; large baconcrs, 00s to 755; suckers, 45s to 55s (equal to S'/Ul per lb); large porkers, 30s to 40s; smaller, 30s to 34s (equal to o'/jjd to 5%d per lb). There was a good entry of store pigs, and owing to there being no outside demand prices were easier. Large sorts made 17s Od and 61s Od; smaller, 18s to 255; and weaners, 7s to lis. BURXSIDE. Dunedin, September 0. At Burnside, to-day 240 fat cattle were yarded. Best bullocks, £ll Ute to £l2 10s; one extra heavy bullock, one of the biggest ever yarded at Burnside, £lB 10s; medium, £8 to £9 10s; inferior, £6 5s to £7 10s; best cows and heifers, £0 10s to £7 ,10s; medium, £5 10s to £0; inferior, £4 10s to £5. Tat sheep: There was a large yarning, 3040 being penned. The entry consisted chiefly of good quality wethers. Well finished sheep sold at last week's prices, but medium and unfinished were from Is to Is Od easier. Prime wethers, 22s to 24.i Od; extra, to 20s 0d; good, 18s to| 20s; medium, 14s to 10s Od; best ewes, 15'S fid to l/8s; extra, 23s Od; good, 12s to liss; medium. 0s to lis. Pigs: There was a small yarding. Young pigs were conspicuous by their absence, and the small yarding of porkera, and baconers met witli brisk sale at advanced prices.
