MISAPPROPRIATION.
A CASHIER IX TROUBLE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, bast Night. At the Magistrate's Court to-day, before Mr. W. (!. Itiddell, S.M., John Scott, an elderly man, appeared on remand, charged with having misappropriated money and with having falsified certain books of the Wellington Meat Export Company, by whom he was employed a.s r cashier and ledger-keeper. The charges were -Ml Entering receipt of £2,» 4s ad for New Zealand Trawling Company, when he received .€")!; (2) entering payment by the same company of £22 liis 9d, insitead of £7O 13s (id; also, on the information of 11. li. Cray, the accountant, lie was; charged with omitting from th« cash book and ledgeivi of the Wellington Meat: Kxport Company certain payments received . After evidence had been given by several witnesses accused pleaded guilty, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
