The supplies are 48,912 tons, and the deliveries are 50,023 tons. The stock is 66,5:50 tons. Tin.—-Forward £IBO 15s. Following is the High Commissioner's cable under date London, September 2 (quotations, unless otherwise, specified, being average market prices on ( spot):- I .Mutton. —The market is quiet and | unfavorably affected by large, arrivals, j and the low prices of chilled beef. Can- j terbnry, 3%d; North Island, 3%d. Lamb. The market is steady, and there is a good demand for all lamb. Stocks are moderate. Canterbury, sd, other than Canterbury sd. Beef.—The market is very dull. Supplies of American chilled beef are large and selling at: Hinds 3%d, fores 2%d. Butter.—The market is quieter. Supplies that were not obtainable here on account of the strike are now available. Australian 120s, Danish 1325, Siberian 100s. Cheese. —The market is firm at the advance: New Zealand 00s. Supplies of New Zealand cheese are nearly exhausted. Cheese prospects for next season are encouraging. Hemp.—The market continues dull. New Zealand, good fair on spot, per ton, £lO 10s; fair grade, £l9; fair current Manila £2O. Forward shipment New Zealand, good fair. £2O; fair grade, 19; fair current 'Manila, £2O. The output from Manila for the week was 15.000 j bales.
